Welcome to the Department of Music

Join a community of musicians whose passion, discipline and creativity inspire learning and extraordinary performances. You’ll perform, compose, conduct, teach and graduate ready to command an audience, write music or lead a classroom.

Individual attention is our hallmark—classes are small. Because we are solely undergrad, you’ll interact directly with our faculty who bring extensive real-world experience, impressive credentials and professional connections.

You’ll also interact with accomplished artists, composers and leading industry professionals in master classes and informally.

Our philosophy is that you should take full advantage of all of your musical opportunities. Teach children and adults through the Music Preparatory Program or in a public school K-12 setting. Take a music-focused trip abroad through our award-winning Global Opportunities program.

From the classroom to the studio to the recital hall and beyond, you’ll be inspired to pursue your personal and professional goals.
