Originally from Buffalo, New York, multi-instrumentalist Devin R. Flynt holds music degrees from SUNY Fredonia and Duquesne University. His primary percussion teachers include Dr. Kay Stonefelt and Andrew Reamer & Chris Allen of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

As an educator, Devin has spent more than 15 years working for various public and private institutions, teaching vocal and instrumental music to students ranging from pre-k through college level. Past teaching highlights include serving as Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Duquesne University and Upper School Music Teacher at St. Edmund’s Academy.

His conducting/directorial credits include performances at the Percussive Arts Society’s “PA Day of Percussion,” multiple appearances for Pittsburgh Symphony’s “Fiddlesticks Family Concert” series and a guest ensemble feature for a Susquehanna University choral showcase.

As a freelance drummer/percussionist, Devin has shared the bill with national acts, Blondie, Average White Band and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy; and as performed for wide ranges of audiences and concert venues across the East Coast, including Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh and Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Devin remains an active studio musician, lending his talents on drums, bass, guitar and vocals to original recording artists including Loni Gamble (of the Stylistics), Rocco of the Snow, Windtree Theory and BeArthur. In Spring of 2021, Devin released his debut solo E.P. entitled “Seventeen Grams”; on which he wrote, performed, recorded and produced.

Devin currently resides in Lewisburg, PA and teaches percussion at Susquehanna and Bucknell Universities, as well as vocal music, music theory, music production and modern band at Midd-West High School. He performs regularly across the Central Pennsylvania region as a live-looping solo artist under the name D.R.Flynt.
